Exeter Professor keynote speaker at leading international conference

Politics Professor, Andrew Massey, will address the 6th annual conference of Asian Association for Public Administration (AAPA) this week, hosted by Xi’an Jiaotong University, China.

Prof Massey will deliver the keynote speech on the first full day of the conference on 9 January, entitled ‘Reform and Innovation – can different traditions deliver Public Administration as Good Governance’.

Prof Massey explains: “The AAPA provides a powerful opportunity to share all of the excellent research happening in the field of Public Policy and I am honoured to be one of the keynote speakers. Asia is a very significant contributor to advances in this area and the AAPA enables all the countries involved to link together.”

Prof Massey has worked in a range of areas including British, European, and US policy and politics. His main areas of research include comparative public policy, public administration and issues around the reform and modernization of government and governance at all levels in the UK, US, EU and globally. He also has a long standing interest in energy policy, especially civil nuclear energy; professionalism and ethics and accountability.  

He is currently Editor in Chief of the International Review of Administrative Sciences, the journal of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences. He is also editor of Public Money and Management.
