Exeter Politics Department played host to a UK Parliament 'talking day'.

On Saturday 1st November, Exeter Politics Department played host to a UK Parliament ‘talking day’. The session brought together students from the University and from Exeter’s University of the 3rd Age (U3A) to discuss the importance of Parliament and voting for different generations. Specifically, the explored questions such as – why do you think we have the vote? What happens to democracy if citizens no longer vote? How can the internet help us make better decisions?

The event is a forerunner to a larger intergenerational debate which will take place at the House of Lords on 28th November 'Parliament 2.0: in a digital society, is politics for politicians or is everyone a decision maker?'

Good luck to all the Exeter students and U3A-ers who make the debate!
