This module will provide you with a clear and inspiring introduction to the nature, causes and potential solutions to environmental problems. Drawing on a wide range of contentious environmental issues including biofuels, fisheries depletion, genetically modified food and climate change, this module illustrates and critically explores the many concepts, ideologies, actors and political settings involved in the politics of the environment today. Applying the tools of sociology, political science and development studies, this module helps you to understand and debate environmental challenges and responses and encourages a rethinking of the relationship between nature and society.
