Student life and societies
Made up of around 4,000 students, the campus gives you intimacy and friendliness, in an arrangement that we think is unique as we share the campus with Falmouth University; a leading specialist arts institution. This combination creates a vibrant mix of students, with a diverse range of interests and backgrounds.
The Falmouth and Exeter Students' Union oversees a wide and varied range of clubs and societies based in Penryn. There’s an ever-growing list of student clubs, so if we don’t currently have the one you want, FXU will help you set your own up once you’re here!
Our Penryn Campus students also run an online newspaper called the Falmouth Anchor. It attracts contributors from across all the programmes at the Penryn Campus who regularly submit work and it offers the opportunity for ambitious students to showcase their talent while gaining valuable work experience. There are also a range of student-run online and print magazines to get involved with.
Politics Society
The student-run Politics Society offers the chance to meet up with other politics students through its wide variety of activities. The Society has organised lectures and visits to Parliament and to local government institutions as well as other academic activities and has a full programme of social events.
I love how students are on first name terms with our lecturers and seminar leaders. I’ve experienced a variety of teaching styles from academics who love to prove theories through interactive role plays, discussions and debates over topics, or using more traditional PowerPoints.
