Designed with combined theoretical and practical approaches this module will increase your knowledge and understanding of the international human rights regime: laws, norms and bodies, whilst preparing you for the challenges of working in this field. Through critical analysis of inter-disciplinary literature, multi-media and presentations from subject experts you will gain strong conceptual and theoretical knowledge and understanding of the topic. Through pre-arranged work opportunities with NGOs and activists in different countries you will strengthen your understanding and be exposed to the complexity of international human rights in practice. This module is suitable for non-specialist students and is recommended for those interested in pursuing academic advancement or a career in human rights. It is particularly recommended for students pursuing inter-disciplinary pathways as it draws on literature from law, politics and international relations.
